Elwood Hopkins, Managing Director
Elwood Hopkins is an urban planner. He holds degrees in city and regional planning from Harvard University and the UCLA Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning. He has served as a research scientist at the NYU Urban Research Center, where he conducted fieldwork in Bombay, Calcutta, Delhi, Bangkok, Jakarta, Tokyo, Istanbul, Cairo, Nairobi, Lagos, Rio de Janeiro, and Mexico City. He has also served as Executive Director of Los Angeles Urban Funders, a foundation consortium targeting low-income neighborhoods. He is now Managing Director of Emerging Markets, Inc., a consulting firm that designs and manages place-based initiatives for banks.
Daniel Tellalian, Director
Daniel Tellalian is an economic development specialist. He holds degrees in business and law from UC Berkeley, as well as in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has practiced land use law with the boutique firm of Harding Larmore, and real estate with commercial developer Lowe Enterprises. He has also worked with the Los Angeles Community Development Bank and Rebuild LA. He is the founder of the Urban Analysis Project, a nonprofit project providing real estate consulting services to small businesses and community groups in Los Angeles' low-income communities. A recipient of the prestigious Echoing Green Fellowship, Daniel is now Director of Emerging Markets, Inc.
